VIA Rail Holiday Contest

VIA Rail is running a holiday contest on Facebook. You can go "sound the horn" and enter the contest to win travel credits. So far over 8,000 horns have been sounded.

The site is http://holidays.viarail.ca which redirects you to Facebook. You will have to supply your email address.

Canadian Geographic Photo Contest

Canadian Geographic is running The Great Canadian Railway Photo Contest. You can enter one of three categories:

1. Rail Economy
2. Rail People
3. Rail Places

I don't know what "Rail Economy" means... it seems like a bad French translation.

The winner receives a $1,000 VIA Rail travel certificate.

However, read the rules carefully. It looks to me that you are basically giving your photographs for Canadian Geographic to use as they will. I won't be entering, based on that, but you may want to anyway.
