VIA 6405 and the Chaleur were involved in a collision on the Gaspe line east of Chandler on September 3. It struck a dump truck on a private crossing. The truck caught fire from the impact and friction and the truck and the front of 6405 burned. Fortunately noone was injured but 6405 has some major damage to the front end.
6405 was brought to New Richmond by NBEC 1868 on Thursday September 6 and then to Campbellton on September 7. It left Campbellton this morning (Sept. 11) on CFMG 403 en route to Montreal.
