I was browsing around and found this video of the Twin Cities Western Railroad. Check out the miserably bad track starting at about 1:11 in the video.
It's amazing that those cars didn't derail. I think the front engine plowed a bit of ballast at one point.

I realize that a telephoto foreshortens distance, but seriously, WTH!?
